Charity golf day for PR professionals – The SLD Invitational

The 3 wise men of consumer PR (see below) suggested to PRmoment.com that we need to help lift the gloom from the country and that swinging some sticks in the countryside was a mighty fine way of doing that. So as an initial step, step forward the SLD Invitational Charity Golf Day for PR professionals. What? A charity golf day Oh god when: Friday, September 16th Where do I need to be: The Berkshire Golf Club Do I need to be able to play golf? Yes, afraid so How much? £135 What do I get for my £135? A sumptuous lunch, a round of golf on one of the UK’s finest golf courses, a few drinks and the chance to take part in the charity auction afterwards. And you’ll meet a few fellow PR swingers. Lunch? Oh yeah and it looks a like a good one. Carvery, roasties, the works. It’ll be a wonder you’ll be bothered to swing a golf club after that! What’s the charity? Speakablity. Speakability is the national charity dedicated to supporting and empowering people with a communication disability (Aphasia) and their carers. What’s the format of the SLD Invitational?  Playing in a fourball in a field of 24 players best two scores will count.  Full handicap stableford point scoring.  There will be a prize for the winning team.  There will also be a prize for the best individual, longest drive and nearest the pin.  There will also be a prize for the best dressed player. Timings? Midday: Arrive and have some lunch Between 2.15 and 2.30pm: Tee off in fourballs. 6.15-6.30pm: Drinks at the bar, prize giving ceremony followed by a charity auction for Speakability What do I do now? We are limited to 6 more players, so in anticipation of demand outstripping supply, please email bensmith@prmoment.com by the 12th Sept if you're keen to play (please include your handicap details too). We’ll then pick the lucky winners and contact those who we drew out of the hat. Thanks to the mighty Graham Goodkind , Mike Mathieson and Alan Twigg for organising the day. For those unable to make it, panic not, PRmoment will be filming the “highlights” and we’ll be putting them up on the site. If it all goes well, we’ll do another one on a larger scale in 2012 and turn this into a regular event in the golf calendar.
