Writing a press release or proofreading copy with a lot of background noise can be SO distracting. Music, on the other-hand, can be mood-lifting, inspirational and thought-provoking. Here are my top five tracks that get me through the day.
Lorde – Team
Although PR can be incredibly competitive, jmm PR works extremely close as a team, across all of our client accounts, maximising all of our individual strengths to ensure the best coverage for our clients. A great tune to write to as well and it is always stuck in my head!
Beyoncé – Run the World
If I’m ever feeling a lack in motivation, then who better to turn to than Queen Bey? Run the World is such a powerful track and it makes you feel like anything is possible!
Rag'n'Bone Man – Human
So appropriate after a day in the office; we all try to be super human and please everyone at every opportunity. However, it’s important to remember we are only human after all.
Morrissey – The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get
I am a massive fan of Morrissey and this tune is very fitting for PR. One of the first things I was taught when I started my career in communications was to deal with everything immediately – you never know what is about to hit you next.
Katy Perry – Firework
When it’s been one of those weeks, where everything happens at once and your feet don't touch the ground, I stick something on that I can sing along to and give it my all. My standard go-to song is always Katy Perry’s anthem.
