PRmoment calls on PR to ‘rise up’

PRmoment has launched a team based competition, designed to bridge the gap between PR education and industry.

We are passionate about giving aspiring professionals an unparalleled head start. This is why we have designed an initiative for PR students, Rise Up PR.

This high-impact competition, brought to you in association with headline partner The Romans, is designed to unearth and develop the brilliant young talent entering public relations.

What is Rise Up PR?

Rise Up PR is a team-based competition offering PR students a genuine, high-value taste of agency life. It's a chance for students to prove their strategic and creative mettle on a truly contemporary challenge.

The competition provides students with a unique suite of gains designed to accelerate their career entry:

  • Hands-on experience. Teams will work on a live communications brief provided by our content partner, Macmillan.
  • Direct mentorship. Students will receive one-on-one guidance and invaluable feedback from leading figures in the PR industry.
  • Unrivaled exposure. A unique opportunity to present their strategic thinking directly to top PR agencies and in-house teams.
  • Real rewards. Cash prizes are on offer — the winning team receives £1,000 with second bagging £500, while third place wins £250
  • Career opportunity. The top three teams will secure the opportunity for paid internships with our key partners.

Dr. Heather Yaxley, an educator, author, and sustainable career development consultant, said: "PRmoment’s new initiative Rise Up PR is a fantastic professional development opportunity for those studying to build their careers in the communications field.

“The competition is designed to connect understanding of theories, models, and frameworks to a practical situation — with excellent rewards on offer. The chance for talented students to present their ideas against others will be a great addition to their CVs when starting out in the industry."

We want to bridge the gap between PR education and the practical, real-world demands of our industry — and this is where you, our esteemed readers, can rise up to the challenge and spread the word within your educational networks.

The official entry kit and detailed competition brief can be downloaded here.

The team registration deadline is Friday 30 January 2026.
