There were originally 15 songs I had in mind and I ultimately had to cut some out – so much good music I had to miss out actually! But here are my five top tracks that get me through the day.
It’s Yours – Jon Cutler
This has been my favourite song since I heard it in 2001. Once upon a time it was the default 5am go-to track. Before kids obviously.
The Man with the Red Face – Laurent Garnier
Most songs are over by the time this one gets going but it’s nine minutes well spent. First heard it played by Steve Lawler on the terrace at Space in 2000 and it stuck with me ever since. Absolute classic.
Tracey in my room (Lazy Dog bootleg) – Everything But The Girl
Not a massive EBTG fan, but my mate used to play this remix all the time when we lived in Sydney and always went down well.
What’s the difference – Eminem & Xzibit
My favourite track on a classic album packed full of great, great tracks. Underrated if you ask me.
Gone – Kanye, Cam’Ron & Consequence
Easily the best Kanye track IMHO – it just goes on and on and they barely pause to catch breath. More like this please Kanye.
