Hats off to Andy Murrays’ PR and media advisors. While I, for one, am only really interested in whether the guy can lift Men’s singles trophy, it seems most of the country are more concerned about whether he’s a "nice guy" or a "good ambassador" for the game.
Well, you’d have to say that his image consultants and PR team have done a fine job. Out is the untidy mop of hair and the “I prefer the US Open” comments. In is the shining white Fred Perry outfit, the training shots of Murray seemingly determined to win Wimbledon for Scotland (sorry I mean Britain) and that’s before we’ve even talked about the ice bath!
I don’t know who Murray went to for his media training but they’ve certainly earnt their keep. Could maybe have done with rehearsing the interview after 5 sets against Switzerland’s second finest though.
Ah the power of PR – just ask The Best Job in the World’s Ben Southall!
