This week’s tunes to get you through your day are from Helen Stevens, communicaitons manager at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity
Mark Ronson - Uptown Funk
I am very lucky to have found my dream job, and while my passion never dampens, as an in-house PRO, it is extremely important to stay creative, and generate inspirational ideas to encourage engagement and charitable donations. One factor that helps with this is a positive office environment, including music. When brainstorming ideas or discussing campaigns with colleagues, upbeat tracks such as Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk area ideal, and really get the creative juices flowing.
Jose Gonzalez - Heartbeats
For report writing or award entries I find that softer music works best, as I can relax and become thoroughly engrossed in what I’m doing. Jose Gonzalez’s Heartbeats is a great track from his Veneer album, it cuts through the silence without being a distraction.
Elbow - One Day Like This
If I’m ever on the train to meetings with corporate partners or the media, I always take my iPod Nano, which I actually won in a raffle on behalf of our cause. The Midlands is blessed with some outstanding countryside, so as well as working on the train, I always make time to take it all in and appreciate the views. Train tunes include Elbow’s classic One Day Like This, it’s just perfect for relaxation and enjoying the moment.
Eminem - Business
I’m always up for fundraising for our great charity, and love getting involved with some of our more extreme challenges alongside our flight doctors and paramedics, such as the Bear Grylls Survival Academy or most recently dressed as a hamster in a human hamster wheel! When exercising, I need a good beat to work out to. Muse is great for this, but Eminem is my top choice and Business off The Eminem Show album is a great running track.
JLo - On The Floor
After a good week at work, the girls and I enjoy a cheeky night out. My friends know I love a good cheesy tune, and I’ll either request Tiffany’s ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’ or my new personal favourite, JLo’s On The Floor featuring Pitbull. This one will definitely get me on the dance floor!
