Viola Communications appoints industry veteran Camilla d'Abo as General Manager of PR

Viola Communications has appointed Camilla d'Abo as General Manager of PR, bringing more than 25 years of experience in the region. 

D'Abo joins the agency boasting a career that has already enjoyed success at some of the region's most prominent agencies and organisations. She has served as Managing Director at APCO Worldwide, Vice Chairman at Edelman DABO, and Global Head of Marketing and Communications at Axendo. Her background also includes finance roles at Credit Lyonnais Rouse UK and Bankers Trust Australia, where she worked as an analyst for the Chief Economist.

Oh her appointment, d'Abo said Viola's combination of established reputation and stated ambition for growth were key factors on her decision to join. "For more than 20 years, Viola Communications has built a reputation in the UAE for shaping some of the nation's most important brands," she said. "Today, the business is paving the way for an exciting new future under the leadership of CEO Piero Poli, with a clear ambition to evolve, grow and redefine what modern communications can be."

Her expertise covers corporate reputation management, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, crisis management, and integrated communications across both B2B and B2C environments, with experience across multiple sectors and government clients.

D'Abo is also a Certified Executive Coach specialising in Purpose Leadership and Digital Marketing, a Non-Executive Director at culture consultancy Together. She has received more than 30 industry accolades, including recognition in the 2022 Arabian Business 50 Inspiring Female Business Leaders list, the 2021 CEO Magazine Women of Influence, and the 2017 MEPRA Chairman's Award.

In a statement, Viola Communications said d'Abo's strategic perspective and leadership experience would play a central role in the next phase of growth for its PR team and clients.
