Dubai-based Umami Comms has been appointed as consumer PR partner for talabat UAE, one of the region's leading on-demand delivery platform.
The agency, which specialises in F&B and hospitality communications, will lead talabat's consumer communications strategy across the UAE, covering the brand's full portfolio – food delivery, talabat mart, grocery and retail.
The scope includes press office management, data-led storytelling, campaign amplification and media and KOL engagement.
Marjorie Chapas, Head of PR at Umami Comms, said the agency was "proud to be partnering with talabat at such an important moment for the brand." She added: "As the region’s original disruptor in the delivery space, talabat has played a defining role in shaping the UAE’s F&B and delivery landscape. Our role is to build on that legacy – bringing forward the human stories, cultural relevance and everyday impact that sets the brand apart.”
Natasha Hajee, Head of Communications, Public Affairs & Sustainability at talabat UAE, highlighted Umami Comms' understanding of the local market as a key factor in the appointment: "Their strong understanding of the local landscape, combined with a creative and strategic approach to storytelling, makes them the ideal partner for this next phase."
Since its 2017 founding, Umami Comms has grown to a team of over 40, representing names including ZUMA, La Petite Maison, Rosewood Abu Dhabi and Diageo. The agency also operates Good Juju, a sister agency focused on lifestyle and design-led brands.
talabat operates across eight MENA markets, and is a subsidiary of Delivery Hero SE.
