Hacked Off asks, should you be in PR?

When I was at college a careers adviser suggested I give up my dreams of working in television or radio, and concentrate on something less glamorous. Strange that someone with my looks and charm should be sidelined like that! Anyway, after a stint in print journalism, I ended up in PR, somewhere my talent could be put to better use. I am still hoping that one day I will actually a) find my talent, and b) use it.

To make sure you are making the most of your abilities, take this short quiz to see what career is ideal for you:

1. What is your preferred source of news?

a. Celebrity gossip magazines.

b. The Today programme.

c. The news is scary. I learn stuff watching Countdown.

2. What is your ideal night out?

a. Party! Party! Party!

b. Going out with a few friends to share chat, good wine and food.

c. I’d rather stay in, but a visit to the Bridge Club is acceptable.

3. It is time to do your accounts, how do you feel?

a. I can’t be arsed.

b. Weary. But accept that some number crunching is inevitable in life.

c. Excited. Especially if I find new ways to register my expenses.

4. Do you have any creative hobbies?

a. My whole life is a creative hobby.

b. I like writing, I have my own blog.

c. Is doing Sudoku creative?

5. Did you make any new friends last year?

a. I got 200 more Facebook friends.

b. Yes, a few.

c. I already have too many, so I dropped some.

Answers

Mostly As: PR is not for you and partying is not a proper career. Your only (slim) hope is to get on a reality TV show.

Mostly Bs: You are perfect for PR.
