Our PR playlist by the PR team at Wyatt International

Here at Wyatt, it’s fair to say that we’re an eclectic bunch when it comes to music. When there’s work to be done, you can be sure that there’s always background music in the office to provide a soundtrack to our working day. The decision as to what music goes on each day is a hotly contested one, which leads to some interesting singalongs to say the least! Whether it’s the cheesiest of pop to the grimiest of gangsta rap – the Wyatt sound system has something for everyone!

Here’s a selection of some of our favourite tunes, as chosen by Louise, Jonathan, Hannah, Victoria and Nick from our very own PR team:

21 Seconds – So Solid Crew

When not busy PRing, I like to enjoy the dulcet tones of Asher D, Romeo Dunne and Lisa Maffia as they navigate their way through 21 seconds (each) of unrelenting rap mastery. With lyrics such as “don’t gimme no deadline, gimme some more time”, I’m reminded that the worlds of early noughties UK garage and B2B PR are not quite so polar as one might assume. This ‘TRACK’ also includes a touching nod to the last-minute nature of many account handlers’ requests to our eminent creatives… “cause if you like me let me know, let me in the studio, I got 21 seconds before I gotta go.”

Fool’s Gold – The Stone Roses

This song is just an absolute anthem by a band who laid the foundations for a new generation of British guitar music – a true original if ever there was one. Used in the soundtrack to Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (one of my favourite films), when I listen to this song I like to channel the spirit of both the music and the film, leaving me full of energy and ready to take on the big, bad world of B2B PR!

Lady Gaga – Telephone

Not only do I actually really like this song, it also definitely sums up the large volume of colour sep requests we still receive on a daily basis. Naming no names – you know who you are!

Justin Bieber – What Do You Mean

Why? Because sometimes when a brief is about as vague as it gets and you need to dig a little deeper, ‘what do you mean?’ is the question that has to be asked! Also, it is an absolute banger… yes I’m a Belieber through and through – guilty as charged!

Girls Aloud – Something New

Because sometimes, in life, you just want clients to try something new! Lyrics include: “Take a walk on the wild side of life” and “All I want is something new” and last but not least, “We’re the leaders of the pack, boy you better watch your back”.
