AMEC launches media evaluation conference to introduce worldwide PR evaluation metrics

If you hadn’t heard, the International Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communication, (you can see why they call themselves AMEC!) has put together an interesting speaker program for their forthcoming conference. The background to this is that AMEC agreed some principles for PR evaluation at its Barcelona Summit in June. These were designed as a line in the sand. The intention always was to move the debate on pretty quickly and create some more robust and ambitious metrics for PR evaluation, including social media, that can be used across the world. In effect creating a kind of PR currency. And that is what this conference is all about. The unveiling of the metrics that AMEC, the PRSA, the CIPR and the PRCA all endorse and want PR people, across the world frankly, to use.  (Here is a PRmoment interview we had with Barry Leggetter on AMECs plans, a month or so back.) So, important stuff and pretty critical to the future of our industry. And it’s in London, so maybe you should make the effort and go along? We’ll be there. Here is the speaker line up and various other details: When: Wednesday 17 November, 2010 from 1300-1630 hours Where: Strand Palace Hotel, The Strand, London, WC2R 0JJ Confirmed speakers are: David B. Rockland, Ph.D., Partner/CEO Ketchum Pleon Change and Global Research, New York; Sally Costerton, Chairman & CEO Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) Hill & Knowlton and Chairman of the PRCA; Alison Clarke, Group Business Development Director, Huntsworth PLC and Chairman of PRCA Best Practice Committee; Tim Marklein, Executive VP, Measurement & Strategy, Weber Shandwick – the chair of AMEC's post Barcelona Principles taskforce on Social Measurement; Ruth Pestana, Worldwide Director of Strategic Services from Hill & Knowlton – the chair of AMEC's taskforce on validated metrics; William M.
