Social media marketing budgets will double over the next five years, according to a study by WebDAM, a digital asset management firm. The interesting infographic, looking at various statistics, highlights the importance of social media within marketing, revealing that 52 per cent of all marketers found a customer via Facebook in 2013, while 43 per cent found a customer via LinkedIn. It was also noted that emails with social sharing buttons increase click through rates by 158 per cent. This research shows that as social media increases in popularity and usage within society, it will also have to increase within marketing to become an integral aspect to many marketing strategies. The infographic also revealed statistics separate to social media stating that 73 per cent of reporters think press releases should contain images, 67 per cent of B2B marketers consider event marketing the most effective strategy and 65 per cent of the digital audience are visual learners.
