Join us as a Media Relations Lead, Commercial & Institutional

  • Working in a busy, high profile media relations team, you'll play a key role in promoting the reputation of the bank for the Commercial & Institutional franchise of NatWest Group
  • We'll look to you to lead the delivery of innovative, proactive business media campaigns for C&I, while maintaining excellent contact with banking and business journalists from across the key national outlets
  • As a spokesperson for the bank across a range of matters, you'll gain valuable exposure as you make sure the bank’s strategy is effectively and accurately communicated


What you'll do

In this creative role, you’ll provide excellent media advice and creative ideas to support to senior stakeholders. By acting as lead of Commercial & Institutional you’ll not only deliver multi-channel media campaigns, but will also shape the bank’s response to key issues in the public news agenda, and manage a range of reputational challenges to protect the bank’s brand and reputation.

Additionally, you’ll be:

  • Establishing strong internal networks and relationships with key external stakeholders, particularly business, consumer and business trade journalists
  • Managing multiple high profile news stories
  • Preparing press releases and media materials which align to the bank’s narrative and core messaging
  • Securing positive media coverage for the bank across a range of media outlets
  • Providing intelligence, counsel and advice to franchise communications partners on media risks and opportunities

The skills you'll need

We’ll be looking for you to have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence at senior level. You’ll have experience of dealing with the media and PR, from origination of PR campaigns through to delivery and will have good knowledge of IT programmes and media databases.

You’ll also need:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Proven experience in creating and delivering creative and innovative campaigns
  • Experience of gaining press coverage through a range of means, such as press releases, social media and managing events
  • Knowledge of social media and digital engagement
  • A strong grasp of political and economic issues
