We are now looking for a Head of Communications to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 35 hours per week.

The Role

As our Head of Communications, you will lead and deliver our communications, public affairs, and crisis response strategies.

Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will ensure consistent messaging and proactive engagement with media, political stakeholders, and the wider creative sector, whilst generating media opportunities for our leadership and young people.

Internally, you will shape and implement an internal communications strategy that drives staff engagement, celebrates success and aligns with wider organisational objectives.

Additionally, you will:

- Manage the Communications Manager and departmental budget

- Support public affairs strategies that influence policy and funding in support of our mission

- Deliver impactful corporate materials including opinion pieces and stakeholder briefings

- Support fundraising communications in collaboration with the Partnerships team

About You

To be considered as our Head of Communications, you will need:

- Experience in proactively engaging and working with a range of journalists and key stakeholders

- Thorough knowledge of media across all platforms

- A clear understanding of the political landscape in the UK and how to approach partnership working with government departments

- The ability to digest and analyse complex information and present it simply and compellingly

- The ability to identify and manage resource needs and motivate staff

- Good influencing and diplomacy skills

Please note, weekend and evening work will be required according to business needs.

The successful candidate must have a current and acceptable DBS check or be willing to undertake one, due to the nature of the role.
