🚨 We’re hiring: Communications Manager (FTC) 🚨

One of London’s most exciting regeneration projects is looking for a Communications Manager to help lead PR and communications for its highly anticipated launch.
Olympia is undergoing a £1.3bn transformation, reimagining the historic event venue as a new destination for entertainment, culture, hospitality and business – with major cultural venues, hotels, restaurants and workspaces opening in phases throughout 2026 and 2027.
THE ROLE
We’re looking for an experienced Communications Manager with great attention to detail to develop and deliver the launch of Olympia in 2026. Reporting directly into the Director of Marketing & Communications, this is a strategic role running across the whole spectrum of communications, with a focus on PR. The successful candidate will have experience in high-profile consumer destination communications, understand the London landscape as well as local, domestic and international media.
They will manage and work alongside agency partners, as well as the wider Marketing and Communications team, to ensure all activity is seamlessly integrated and to maximise opportunities across channels.
This is a fast-paced role in a newly set up organisation which will require the successful candidate to lead the communications function at a pivotal time for Olympia.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work alongside the Marketing & Communications team to prepare for, and deliver, Olympia’s launch, acting as strategic lead for all things PR and communications
- Lead and manage agency partners to ensure the successful delivery of Olympia’s launch programme
- Alongside other discipline leads, co-own Olympia’s grid, keeping track of all Olympia-related activity, owned as well as third parties’ (partners, ownership group etc), ensuring it all supports the Olympia brand
- Develop and foster trusting and productive relationships with estate partners, acting as a central point of contact for all things PR and communications, and ensure communications guidelines and ways of working are respected at all times
- Lead on major announcements and campaigns
- Manage on-site media visits, events and activations
- Manage media requests and help grow Olympia’s network of media and advocates
- Act as brand guardian externally and across the company, ensuring all external content referencing Olympia is always accurate and on message, and imagery used in the media is always signed off and the latest available
- Source, appoint and manage relevant external suppliers, such as photographers
- Work collaboratively with the Social, Digital and Marketing leads, and key teams across the organisations, such as Operations and Olympia Events’ Marketing and Communications team
- Act as the point person on crisis communications, working hand-in-hand with the appointed agency and support the implementation of the crisis communications plan in relevant situations
- Represent the PR and communications function in stakeholder meetings with senior leadership and investors
- Provide strategic advice and support on internal and stakeholder communications
- Support the development of the Marketing and Communications Executive
- Help set Olympia up for in-life operations
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years’ experience in PR and communications, agency or in-house, in a consumer events, destination, entertainment or leisure business
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Exceptional writing and verbal communications skills, and the ability to “read the room”
- A strong news sense and an eye for a story
- A natural sensitivity for good (and bad) communications
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability and confidence to advise senior leadership
- Budget and agency management experience
- A collaborative attitude and ability to juggle multiple senior stakeholders
- Experience in organising and running high-profile, large-scale media events, and media hosting (such as media day, press trips etc)
- Deep knowledge of the London leisure and hospitality scene, and of local, domestic and international media
- Experience in various sectors, such as hospitality, F&B, culture, entertainment, but a generalist mindset, understanding how various venues can come under the banner of one destination, and how to tell that story in the media
