Communications Executive - Strategic Agenda

About Strategic Agenda

Strategic Agenda is a global, full-service communications consultancy supporting clients in the development and sustainability sectors. Since 2002, we’ve partnered with over 400 organisations – including the United Nations – to create the right content to get the right people to do the right thing.

We develop and deliver comprehensive communications strategies that help our clients raise awareness, inspire action, secure funding, and demonstrate impact. Whether it’s a global campaign or local advocacy, our work helps organisations tell their story, amplify their mission, and ultimately, make the world a better place.

About the Role

We’re looking for a creative, driven and organised Communications Executive to join our team. In this role, you’ll support the planning, creation and delivery of impactful communications that span campaigns, publications, social media, and internal channels. You’ll help shape our brand voice, tell great stories, and bring clarity, cohesion and creativity to our communications.

You'll work alongside our Communications Manager and collaborate with designers and project managers across multiple campaigns. Whether you're writing a newsletter, shaping a social media calendar, or helping with researching– you’ll be playing a key part in showcasing the value and impact of development work around the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, draft, and deliver clear, compelling content – including newsletters, blogs, case studies, press releases, and social media posts.
  • Garner positive press for our clients and us
  • Come up with creative ideas to help our clients get the most out of their comms on limited budgets
  • Manage and schedule content across Strategic Agenda’s channels, working to build engagement and brand visibility.
  • Carry out and present research for comms projects - whether it be on clients, services or strategies.
  • Monitor and report on analytics to evaluate performance and inform content strategy.
  • Contribute to the delivery of integrated campaigns, coordinating with design, digital, and external partners as needed.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • A natural storyteller with exceptional writing skills in English, competent at editing and content development.
  • Confident and compelling presenter of ideas and stories
  • Digitally fluent, with experience managing social media, using CMS platforms, and tracking analytics.
  • Design-savvy – some knowledge of Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools to support content creation.
  • Organised and proactive, able to manage multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholders.
  • Collaborative and culturally aware, with an understanding of working in diverse, international environments.
  • Mission-driven, excited about global development, sustainability, and the power of communications to drive change.

Key Requirements

  • At least 3 years of agency or similar experience crafting compelling comms campaigns
  • Proven experience creating content for web, email, and social media.
  • Strong organisational skills and a hands-on, can-do attitude.
  • Familiarity with communications tools (e.g. Mailchimp, WordPress, social scheduling tools).
  • Basic visual/design and video editing skills are a plus, but not required.

Experience working in or with international development, sustainability, or the UN system is highly desirable.

Why Join Us?

  • Work with purpose: help tell the stories that make the world a better place.
  • Join a global team: collaborate with creatives, consultants, and strategists across four continents.
  • Grow with us: we offer training and capacity-building, just as we do for our clients.
  • Be seen and supported: we value relationships, trust, and strong project management – and you’ll have all three.
  • Make a real impact: we work as an extension of our clients' teams, and every day, your work will matter.

We’re excited to hear from candidates who are curious, creative, and committed to making communications count.
