Our PR playlist by Simpatico PR
14th July 2016
Here at Simpatico PR, our music tastes vary from indie to cheesy pop, afro beats to electronic – the list is endless. When deadlines loom, some of us pop the headphones in or tune in to the dulcet tones of people basking in the square and at 4pm every day listen out for the Hare Krishnas, providing us with a late afternoon musical injection! Here’s a selection of our favourite tunes, as chosen by some of the team:
Michael – September by Earth, Wind and Fire
Brilliant song and it features in one of my favourite films, “Les Intouchables” where the chap dances to it in a highly admirable way, especially for me, who can only just about manage the left foot before the right.
If that doesn’t make you want to crack open the Prosecco on a Friday after a busy week then I don’t know what will!
Emma – Be A Body, by Grimes
To say I’m not obsessed with Grimes would be a total lie – a true innovator, she is arguably the David Bowie of the modern age. Listening to Grimes and in particular this song from the amazing Visions album, really gets my creative ideas flowing and is the ideal background music for a busy day in the world of PR.
Patrick – From Centre to Wave, by Loop
To say that Loop specialise in music that’s an acquired taste is probably something of an understatement. But this gem from late 1980s album A Gilded Eternity, is the musical equivalent of a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster; the fabled drink featured in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy which describes it as like "having your brains smashed in by a slice of lemon wrapped round a large gold brick". To the initiated this is rather invigorating; it helps get my thought leadership synapses pulsing.
What’s more inspirational than listening to three strong independent women singing a banger?
