North East IT firm launches PR CRM Software
16th February 2015
Intriguingly Newcastle-based IT consultancy, Forfusion Ltd, have launched a PR contacts software platform backed by Microsoft.
Quite whether the PR software market offer sufficiently high yields for Microsoft remains to be seen but the cloud-based platform, called Pragmatist, has been developed using market-leading Microsoft Dynamics customer relationship technology (CRM) technology.
Apparently Pragmatist allows PR organisations to record contact information and communication history with media as well as clients. The functionality also integrates with Microsoft Social Listening, which can monitor millions of sources across social media, blogs, forums and news across the globe and in 19 languages, as well as provide detailed insights and analytics.
Pragmatist has been spearheaded by Sean Ball, from Forfusion who has worked at some of the UK’s leading PR agencies and some of the biggest global entertainment brands. Ball claims the new platform will increase operational efficiencies and significantly reduce costs for PR organisations.
“When I worked in PR, I used to get fed up with having to double check contact details of journalists on search engines, despite paying fortunes to media database companies and having to work across hundreds of spreadsheets,” said Ball. “Pragmatist gives PRs the ability to build their own relevant database, generate media lists within a few clicks, record all interactions and measure performance, as well as monitor social media and online news. I just wish Pragmatist was available when I was working PR!”
Either way, at a time of consolidation in the PR service provider market, it is interesting to see a new entrant.
