Jobs of the week

8th August 2016

Here are our PR Jobs of the Week, bought to you by the good guys at Prospect.

PR MANAGER, FOOD AND DRINK
£40-50k
74641C

Want to be part of one of the UKs biggest retailers and talk about food all day?
This is a great gig for a real foodie who has worked their way up to AD level in an agency and is now keen to move in-house. The beauty of this role is that whilst it’s client side, it has many of the attributes of an agency position, with responsibilities for a variety of brand and product areas across the food and drink sector. You’ll be working at the forefront of a national press office, developing proactive campaigns and also managing reactive enquiries often working with colleagues in corporate comms to help appease a national issue or crisis. You’ll be used to working with a variety of stakeholders and will be able to keep your cool in front of c-suite colleagues. Your experience to date could be across any consumer sector, though of course those with food, drink or FMCG exposure will be prioritized. Experience of working on national campaigns over global would also be preferred.

If you’re keen to hear more about this FTSE 100 business please send your CV to [email protected]

ACCOUNT MANAGER / ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE, SOCIAL ISSUES
£20-£40k
74693C

For many people, it’s important to feel as though you are making a small difference, or at least ‘giving back’. Sometimes PR doesn’t allow you to feel that way, but this agency we’re helping, really does.

They are a small team, dedicated to social issues and social change which means that a lot of the work they do is challenging and rewarding in turn. Whether it’s exploring issues around mental health, slavery or responsible drinking, you will find yourself at the heart of some of the key social debates that dominate the news agenda. So you need to be passionate about it. Being a small team means they are quick to respond, agile and really driven. They need those qualities in all the people they hire and right now, they need an Account Manager and also an AE. Ideally some experience in this area is helpful; or charity, education, behavior change campaigns would be a real plus.

So if you feel it’s time to get stuck into something which may have some impact and a positive outcome and you want to work in a team where you have a load of responsibility, send your CV to [email protected]

SENIOR PR EXECUTIVE, TECHNOLOGY
£27-30k
74688C

For a first role in-house, it doesn’t get more exciting than this. It literally has it all. Put simply, think corporate PR for the technology sector. Meaty business issues & an opportunity to really elevate tech and lead the debate on where it’s heading  and its contribution to the world we are living in. It’s comms at its best, working in an environment that has an agency feel. It also includes marketing, events and social media, working across multiple channels. It’s an opportunity to really make something your own. So what do they need? Ideally someone with an agency background, now looking to make a move in-house. Someone who has corporate comms experience and on a technology business would be great, but an interest in the sector is the main thing. You’re a PR practitioner but the team loves to share the load so you would have an opportunity to work with the wider marketing and events team to give you a rounded experience. A strong writer is essential so you can create really engaging content coupled with media relations experience too. It’s not about trade press so much as Nationals and broadcast, contributing to the news agenda and being able to spot news opportunities. Everything you’ve been doing and more.
For someone who is considering that move in-house, this one could be the perfect fit.

Working in the heart of Fitzrovia with a great team of 7 and a soon to be opened office in NYC, this agency has a great deal to offer. From working at home on hot summer days though to taking the Instagram bloggers on exotic press trips, you’ll be thoroughly spoilt.

In return you will be a down to earth and enthusiastic and essentially ready to get involved and be an intrinsic member of the team.

You will have no fear when it comes to selling in to the media and will be used to using Gorkana and other media monitoring tools and databases.

SENIOR ACCOUNT MANAGER, DRINK
£35-£40k
74643V

We’re looking for a spirited SAM to work at this boutique Soho based agency. Whilst the agency may be small, this team works with major global brands across the drinks and leisure industries.

Having previously worked in complimentary sectors you will be keen to become more of an expert and really knuckle down in one or two industries, taking your larger agency experience in to a more niche environment where you will have more of a voice and progression will happen faster.
Clients require you to be strategic and develop campaigns that will have a real impact on the business’ performance. Projects to date have involved everything from talking brands to summer events through to developing global toolkits.

This is a fun agency who puts a big onus on training their employees ensuring they are armed with everything they need to be the best that they can be.

Freelance Senior Account Executive
London
£130 per day
74576V

Wondering who’s doing good PR these days and where everyone wants to work? The answer to both is with this fabulous agency. From some of the world’s biggest consumer tech brands to brilliant companies in travel, you name it, they’ve probably thrown it out of a plane, floated it down the Thames and ordered it an Uber.

Due to increased client budgets and sign off on projects they’re envisaging needing an SAE freelancer to work with them from June through to the end of the summer with the possibility of extending further.

You’ll have all the qualities of a great SAE (media, helping to pull the team together on a day to day, supporting your managers etc) but you’ll also have a certain something that makes you a great addition to the team, someone that they can’t believe they EVER lived without.

If you’re in between roles, toying with the idea of going traveling towards the end of the year or simply keen to move on from what you’re currently doing and have consumer tech creds please contact [email protected]

With all those festivals, holidays to Mykonos and Ibiza in the diary it’s no wonder we all need a bit of time out. Seems the PR industry is one step ahead of us (when isn’t it?) and are running to our rescue with an enormous amount of health related PR campaigns on the horizon.

Our agency clients have everything from healthy eating brands and gyms though to pain relief and given the number of people currently lying on a beach recovering from the night before, need some freelance support.

We’re currently looking for SAEs through to SAMs with broad consumer lifestyle experience who can help develop and execute campaigns for brands in the health and wellness space.

Roles run from 1 week through to 3 months. For more information please get in touch with [email protected]

All good things come in small packages. This is 100% the case with this great straight talking and welcoming agency based in the West-end.

SAE/AM Consumer
London
c£30,000
Ref: 74677

We all know that it’s not cool or smart to brag about the clients that you work with. But there’s always an exception to every rule. This is it.

Whether it’s one of the world’s largest consumer goods businesses, an iconic soft drinks brand or a well-known supermarket, there’s a lot to impress your mates over dinner, believe me.

But, the other thing we know is that it’s not all about the client list. Lucky then that this stable of clients sits in a rather brilliant global agency that is constantly game changing and has the interest of its employees right at its heart.

What they need now is either an SAE or a JAM to join the team. You will ideally be ‘all things media’ and love nothing more than telling stories which have true impact. You could also love the client counsel and find helping them to grow their business just as exciting. So, if you want to acceptably get your ‘brag on’, you know what comes next.

Consultant – Corporate
London
There’s never a dull day in this agency, that’s the only thing that’s guaranteed and the phrase ‘no two days are ever the same’ is a very real mantra.  Advising some of the world’s biggest brands on their reputation and communication strategy is their bread and butter.  Whether it’s a global FMCG brand or a massive wealth management company, you are at the heartbeat of a business’s reputation and it doesn’t get more fascinating than that. It’s a company that has seen growth yet has managed to keep hold of that ‘familial’ feel with the wellbeing of their own people at the forefront of what they do; giving opportunity and experiences that are second to none. And it’s time to give some of that opportunity as they look for great talent to join the team. Essentially we need a lot of the usual attributes that are banded about; ‘curious, passionate, hungry, bright’, you know the kind of thing. But we also need something just a little bit different and how we articulate that is the interesting bit. It’s not something that we can put down on paper really, you just know when you know if someone’s ‘got it’.

It could be you. And if it is, you may just feel like you’ve won the career lottery. So as they say, ‘You’ve got to be in it to win it’. Don’t let it be them.

Account Director – Corporate
London
Are you sitting comfortably?  . . . . That could just be the problem.

You know how the story goes, you’ve been in your current job for a while and you’re not sure what’s next. Thinking about in-house but those roles are few and far between. The reason that you think you want in-house is because you want to get under the skin of one brand and ‘own’ something but the people are nice and you know the clients so let’s just make a big fat U turn and sit pretty, right?

Let’s not. This agency which is really growing is looking for an experienced practitioner to work across its corporate portfolio. As an Account Director, they are committed to giving you real ownership in this role so you genuinely have an opportunity to make your mark and take up some of the reins. The client work is diverse and the agency a meritocracy with some fantastic leadership and investment in their people.

So time to get past that page you keep reading over and over and move on to the happy ending.

Account Director | Corporate
London

This agency is quite the dark horse. A well respected and independent communications agency, servicing clients in the corporate/b2b and reputation space, they are looking for an Account Director to join their team. It’s definitely an agency run by the agency which is pretty refreshing. Many clients suggest they are a business of ‘grown ups’ but you really get the sense that people are doing some great work and are really listened too here; add to that the genuinely fascinating work from infrastructure to housing, and it makes for a robust and profitable business. They are flexible with this hire. They would love an AD but equally would be happy to consider an ambitious SAM looking to make the progression in the medium term. It’s all about finding the right people, because this industry more than most, is a people business. You need to be credible in front of clients, gaining their trust by giving sound counsel but you will also fly if you still have a keen interest in the media, love business issues and are an ideas person. Its’ all for the taking here. A real opportunity to join a business and have an impact which is rewarded. If you feel it’s time to work with grown-ups, get in touch.
